Ever since 7th grade I wanted to come to Foothill. In the beginning, I thought I would be going to Buena but then I found out about Foothill and everything changed. I knew I would have a better future if all I did was attend Foothill for the next four years of my education. That tiny, little, step in my life could change so many things.

My parents never really wanted me to go to Buena so they were really happy when Foothill was an option. They said I would get a better education here than anywhere else and I agreed. My best friend Yume was already "accepted" into Foothill because her sister was already going here so that made me want to come here even more. I went to my counselor and talked about my decision with her. She looked at my grades and thought that Foothill would be the best choice for me. I did research on Foothill and heard really good things about it and I took a look at their website and got some information about it. So I got an application, filled it out, and turned it in. Then I waited. Finally, we got a letter. It would either say you're not in, you're on a waiting list, or you're in and I was in. I was so excited!

I heard that there was an orientation coming up. I was really nervous for that but I got there and everybody was so nice and helpful. I thought that the orientation was fun and kinda weird. There were lots of fun ice breakers to help us get to know each other better. My FIRE leaders were all really nice and I met a bunch of new people in my FIRE group and others. Going to the orientation made me less nervous for the first day of school. I found all my classes and didn't get lost once and I was just overall happy to be here. I'm glad that I got my first day of freshman year out of the way.

It was definitely not a mistake coming to Foothill. It was probably one of the best decisions of my life because I know I will have a bright future. I kept my old friends and also made new ones. I hope to become closer to my old friends and get to know my new ones. The amount of homework is kind of a lot but I will eventually get used to it. I am happy with all my classes and teachers and I hope I can have a great four years here.

Overall, coming to Foothill was my decision and I'm incredibly happy that I'm here. I think that since I am attending Foothill I will have many more options and opportunities for my life. I hope that maybe listening to this changed your outlook about attending or being at Foothill. Thank you for listening.
